A program is only as good as it's staff!
We believe, in A World of Peace Programs, that children learn positive behavior by emulating those around them--both other children and staff.
We pride ourselves on having a staff (counselors, junior counselors, and counselors-in-training) who are committed, nurturing, caring and engaging individuals dedicated to giving your children a positive and stimulating experience during the time they are in our care.
The staff are experienced adults (and inexperienced CIT’s who are learning how to be the wonderful counselors that we love to have be part of our staff), who come from backgrounds of working with children who are the ages of our campers. All of the staff are trained in the steps towards conflict resolution and how to support children in building these skills for them to carry to their own lives and relationships. Our staff attend on-going, and pre-camp, meetings related to building a peaceful community within our camp environment.
We have a low teacher to child ratio (1:10), for full days of care during the school year, and a very low counselor to camper ratio (1:6 or 7) during summer camp. The staff are all very conscientious about the campers safety, both on field trips and when we are at the camp site.
It is important to the staff to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the children to explore their creative side in all of the specialty classes that are offered, and delve in to their natural curiosity with the awesome world of science and nature around us.
